Capitalizing Nouns in German

Hello dear students! Today, we'll discuss a very important and useful rule in German: the capitalization of nouns. This might be new to you, but it truly clarifies things. It's quite simple: in German, all nouns – whether they refer to people, objects, places, or abstract concepts – are always capitalized, regardless of their position in the sentence. This helps us immediately identify nouns.

For instance, in der Tisch (table), Tisch is capitalized. Similarly, die Schule (school) starts with a capital 'S', and even das Glück (happiness) is capitalized. In a sentence like 'Ich lese ein Buch' (I am reading a book), Buch is also capitalized.

Remember, this rule simplifies recognizing nouns, making your German journey much easier. You'll get used to it quickly with practice!
