The Second Position Rule for Verbs

Hello kids! Today we'll learn a very important German rule: the verb's second position. This is basic for German sentences.

This rule means the conjugated verb always stands in the second position in normal sentences. The verb's place is fixed, no matter what starts the sentence.

For example: Ich lerne Deutsch. ("Ich" first, "lerne" second). Even with Heute lerne ich Deutsch. ("Heute" first), "lerne" is still second. The verb is always fixed second!
