German Passive Voice Structure

Hello, students! Today we'll learn about the Passive Voice structure in German. This is used when the action itself or its result is important, rather than who performs it. Passive sentences are formed using the auxiliary verb werden (to become/be) and the main verb's Partizip II (past participle) form. For example, "Der Brief wird geschrieben." (The letter is being written.) Here, "what is being written" is key, not "who." To mention the agent, we use "von" (by): "Der Brief wird vom Mann geschrieben." (The letter is written by the man.) As you can see, the Passive Voice emphasizes the action. You'll master it easily with practice!
